Goodwin Consulting received its certification as a Minority/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise from the Allegheny County Department of Minority, Women & Disadvantaged Business Enterprise. Goodwin Consulting was founded by Tyrone A. Goodwin, to provide management advisory and public accounting solutions to businesses, governments and institutions.

Jones Lang LaSalle Inc.'s Pittsburgh office was recognized as a top leasing firm in Pittsburgh by CoStar Group Inc., based on the number of 2007 transactions. CoStar Group Inc. recognized two of Jones Lang LaSalle's Pittsburgh transaction specialists as Power Brokers for 2007 transactions.

Goehring Rutter & Boehm recognized Thomas T. Frampton and Howard J. Schulberg as 2008 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers.

Dan Adamski, senior vice president, and David Bushee, associate, were named Power Brokers by CoStar Group Inc. for total transactions completed in the Pittsburgh market in the office and industrial categories.

Heeter Direct achieved Forest Stewardship Council Chain-of-Custody certification under the Scientific Certification Systems Forest Conservation Program. Forest is a nonprofit organization that works for management of the world's forests in an environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable way.

Seven attorneys at Rothman Gordon were named Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for 2008. R. Douglas DeNardo, James W. Ummer and K. Sidney Neuman for estates planning and probate; Thomas R. Solomich for real estate; and James W. Carroll Jr., Stephen H. Jordan and Louis B. Kushner for labor and employment.

Susan M. Brimo-Cox, an Ohiopyle-based freelance writer and communications professional, received awards in the 2008 Communications Contest sponsored by the Pennsylvania Press Club: a first-place award in the feature story, general/specialized category for the business article "Seizing Opportunity for Competitive Advantage" written for Tepper Magazine; two second-place awards for her self-syndicated gardening column Nature's Garden and the feature story "2007 Color Trends: Warmer, Richer, Natural" written for PaintPRO magazine.

Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott said attorney Gregory H. Teufel was given King's College's Alumni Award for Service to Society for services to various nonprofit organizations and charitable causes, including on a legal advisory committee for the national Patient Advocates for Advanced Cancer Treatments, mostly focusing on prostate cancer victims.

Craig A. Baker, president of Daniel C. Baker Associates Inc., was named Engineer of the Year by the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers, Beaver County Chapter.
