Visits by Xavier, Temple top Dukes' home card
Thursday, July 03, 2008

The headline home games on Duquesne's Atlantic 10 Conference men's basketball schedule are Xavier and Temple, which both participated in the NCAA tournament last season. Xavier reached the Elite Eight, and Temple lost in the first round.

Duquesne also will play three NIT teams from the conference at Palumbo Center -- Charlotte, Dayton and Rhode Island. The other league games at home will be George Washington, St. Bonaventure and Saint Louis.

The Dukes will travel to Dayton, Fordham, La Salle, Massachusetts, Richmond, St. Bonaventure and Saint Joseph's.

Duquesne will play the other 13 conference teams at least once and Dayton, St. Bonaventure and Saint Louis twice. The Dukes played Fordham, La Salle and St. Bonaventure twice each of the past three seasons.

Dates and times for Duquesne's conference and non-conference games will be released later this summer.

West Virginia

West Virginia's 18-game Big East men's basketball schedule next season includes playing Louisville, Pitt and South Florida twice.

The Mountaineers will play the remaining teams in the conference once. Other Big East home opponents are Connecticut, DePaul, Notre Dame, Providence, St. John's and Villanova.

The complete schedule will be announced in September.
