Little Bites: Top chef

• "Top Chef" season four contestant Spike Mendelsohn and season two contestant Josie Smith-Malave will be at Whole Foods in East Liberty on Wednesday for the Top Chef Tour Bus. Although advance tickets are sold out, walk-ins will be accepted for all of the shows on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, those who don't get a seat on the bus will be able to watch the interactive demonstrations on a plasma screen outside the bus. Show times are 10:30 a.m., noon and 1:30 p.m.

A DOWNTOWN COOKOUT

• Cafe Zao is holding its third annual cookout during the Cultural Trust's Gallery Crawl July 11 from 4-8 p.m. Chef Toni Pais will be grilling authentic Portuguese sausages and sardines, as well as salmon and chicken, in the Agnes R. Katz Plaza (corner of Seventh Street and Penn Avenue). A variety of side dishes and Portuguese cookies will also be available. The Cafe Zao Cookout is $20 per person; children 12 and under are $10. Tickets are available by calling 412-456-6666, online at pgharts.org and at the Box Office at Theater Square. In case of rain, the festivities will be moved to the Cabaret at Theater Square.

• Ruth's Chris Steak House is offering a summer celebration of two, three-course meals for $89. Ruth's Chris Steak House is at Six PPG Place. The prix fixe menu includes a soup or a salad, a variety of entrees and sides to choose among, and a shared dessert. Tax and gratuity are not included. For reservations call 412-391-4800.
