The around-the-clock lane closure on Route 28 north from Pittsburgh Mills to the Creighton Interchange was lifted yesterday.
Instead, only off-peak lane closures will be imposed in the 2-mile stretch for the remainder of the $35.8 million, 6.8-mile rehabilitation project. The contractor will not be permitted to restrict northbound traffic between 3 and 7 p.m.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation pointed out, however, that around-the-clock lane closures will continue on Route 28 north from the Harmar/Route 910 interchange to the Pittsburgh Mills exit.
