What makes the Pink Frolic Ball such a special evening? People like Vi Gallo, who got up at 4 a.m. last Saturday to drape the Omni William Penn ballroom in Tiffany blue satin linens and tie matching bows on the white-gloved chairs.
The effect was breath-taking and perfectly elegant, in keeping with "Dinner at Tiffany's," the theme of this year's ball orchestrated by the Civic Light Opera Guild.
The evening honored movie and Broadway mega-talents Rob Marshall and his sister, Kathleen Marshall, with the Richard Rodgers Award for Excellence in Musical Theater.
"For me, Civic Light Opera was everything," Rob enthused, and Kathleen quipped that the evening was like "This Is Your Life" and "Queen for a Day."
A surprise guest was their friend and collaborator, Harry Connick Jr., who flew in to supply major swoon material for the 440 guests.
A wonderful dinner (emerald greens, a Tiffany cut of filet and a trio of amazing desserts) was followed by dancing to Dreamscape.
A Broadway revue by Point Park University and CLO students was the diamond in the box!
