Slim is in and if you aren't, at least your stuff can be -- especially if you are considering Apple's Macbook Air.
The ultra-thin laptop is long on style but a little cramped when it comes to connectivity, compared with its heavier competitors such as Dell's XPS M1330 (which in 2007 held the title of thinnest laptop until the unveiling of Macbook Air in January) or the standard 13-inch Macbook. That's according to CNET reviews, an online site dedicated to information on new technology.
With a 13.3-inch screen, the Macbook Air is .76 inches thick and tips the scale at a mere 3 pounds. One way it keeps the weight down is to eliminate a DVD/CD slot. You can buy an external one for about $100. Without it, the starting price is $1,799.
