A McCandless man was arrested Tuesday after police found evidence that he had sexually assaulted a 4-year-old.
Michael Karrer, 37, was charged with indecent assault, endangering the welfare of minors, corruption of minors and sexual abuse of children.
According to police, he was communicating with children through a Web site. The state police computer crimes task force traced the communications to Mr. Karrer's house on Bristol Court in McCandless. After executing a search warrant there Tuesday, police found evidence of the assault. State police said more charges are forthcoming related to other items seized in the search.
In 2003, Mr. Karrer was charged with six counts of sexual abuse of a child, but he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of corruption of minors as part of a plea deal and was sentenced to probation.
