An Aliquippa dentist pleaded guilty to health care fraud yesterday in federal court.
Gregory J. Jovanelly, 43, admitted that he made more than $94,000 by submitting false claims to United Concordia Cos., an insurance company that specializes in dental coverage, from May 17, 2004, to May 25, 2006.
According to prosecutors, the procedures for which he submitted claims either were never performed or were different than what was actually performed.
Mr. Jovanelly will be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Terrence F. McVerry Aug. 15.
