Eat'n Park Restaurant has remodeled its location at 100 Park Manor Drive in Robinson with numerous green initiatives, such as removing paper place mats and installing more efficient hand dryers in the restrooms to reduce its annual paper waste.
The Dyson AirbladeTM hand dryer uses about 80 percent less energy than conventional hand dryers, dries hands in about 12 seconds and will save approximately 1,000 pounds of paper annually.
Other behind-the-scenes environmentally friendly changes have been made. All fryer oil is recycled and turned into bio-diesel fuel, and the majority of the light bulbs are compact fluorescent light bulbs, which use 70 percent to 80 percent less electricity than their incandescent counterparts.
The new table laminates, wallpaper, carpet and ceiling tiles have been manufactured using recycled raw materials. Plus, the restaurant, which is open 24 hours a day seven days a week, is smoke free.
Eat'n Park Restaurants, founded in 1949 as a family carhop, has 77 locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.
