Pennsylvania American Water will begin flushing its distribution system in Elizabeth Township, Clairton, Dravosburg, West Elizabeth, Elizabeth and Forward Township on May 19 through June 12.
The four-week project will be conducted Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to minimize disruptions of customer water service. Crews will open hydrants and allow them to flow freely for a short period of time. This process enables PAW to flush sediments from water mains and verify that hydrants and valves are working properly.
Temporary service disruptions may include discolored water, but there is no health hazard.
