CLASSES


Center -- Author Lisa Miles will discuss "Resurrecting Allegheny City," Pittsburgh's North Side, at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Mormon Family History Center, 114 Church Drive. The free class is presented by the Beaver County Genealogical Society.

DINING OUT


Carnegie -- A pancake and sausage breakfast will be served from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Carnegie Presbyterian Church, 219 Ewing Road. Cost will be $6 for adults and $3 for children 6 or older.

FOR CHILDREN


Center -- Penn State Beaver Office of Continuing Education will offer 18 summer camps for those age 3 to 18. Camp topics will include cheerleading, robotics, Spanish, wizardry, fitness and others. Call 724-773-3700 for details.

FUND-RAISERS


Beaver -- National Honor Society students at Beaver Area High School will hold a battle of the bands at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow in Gypsy Glen Stadium. Funds raised will benefit the Witowich Scholarship Fund, named for teacher Stephen Witowich, who died last year. Admission is $10.

Franklin Springs -- South Side Golf Association will sponsor its annual 2-person scramble amateur golf tournament May 31 at Ponderosa Golf Course in Hookstown to benefit the South Side High School golf team. Shotgun start will be at 8:30 a.m. Prizes total $1,600. Entry of $150 per team is due by Saturday. Refreshments and dinner included. Call 412-498-1575.

Baden -- Mount Gallitzin Academy will host its annual golf outing at 11:30 a.m. June 6. Cost is $125, including prizes, drinks, snacks, dinner and a silent auction. For information, call Jane Spellacy at 724-869-6540.

Sewickley -- Dr. Gretchen Bender will lecture on "George Seurat and Paul Cezanne: Responding to Impressionism" at 6 p.m. tomorrow in Sweetwater Center for the Arts, 200 Broad St. Admission is $5 for members and $10 for others.

PETS


Center -- Beaver County Humane Society will hold a rabies clinic from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday in its shelter, adjacent to Beaver Valley Mall. Cost is $10 per pet. Animals must be at least 3 months old and in a carrier or on a leash. For information, call 724-775-5801.

RELIGION


Crafton -- A community choir festival with choirs from Crafton and Ingram will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in Crafton United Presbyterian Church, 80 Bradford Ave.

Scott -- The congregation of Old St. Luke's Church, 330 Old Washington Pike, will celebrate the 250th anniversary of its first worship service with a performance by Faure String Trio at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

SALES


Findlay -- St. Columbkille Church, 103 Church St., will hold a rummage sale from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

McDonald -- The annual flea market will be from 9 to 4 p.m. Saturday at McDonald Trail Station, 161 S. McDonald St. Food will be available. Proceeds will benefit the Montour Trail and the trail station.

North Fayette -- Western Allegheny Community Library, 8042 Steubenville Pike, will sell used books by the bag Tuesday through May 24. Prices start at $7 a bag on the first day, then are reduced each day, until the cost is two bags for $5 on the last day. Doors open at 10 a.m. daily, except May 24, when they open at 9 a.m. For details, call 724-695-8150.

Carnegie -- Free Movies for the Senior Set will feature "Michael Clayton" at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the reception hall at Andrew Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall, 300 Beechwood Ave.

West End -- A free slide show of local history will be shown at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the West End Branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, 47 Wabash Ave., presented by the West End and Elliott Historical Society. Call 412-921-1717 for information.

TOURS


Collier -- Woodville Plantation, 1375 Washington Pike, will welcome visitors to "Above the Stairs: A Behind the Scenes Look at Woodville," from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Tours will be given of the 1775 home's second-floor private rooms of the Neville and Cowan families. Cost is $5 for adults or $10 for families. Phone 412-221-0348.

TRIPS


Marietta, Ohio -- The American Sternwheel Association's Annual Sternwheeler Festival in Marietta, Ohio, is the destination of a Sept. 5-7 bus tour offered by Old Economy Village. Fees include transportation, museum admission, meals, lodging and other items. Members who register by tomorrow will pay $425 per person for double occupancy and $606 per person for single. Nonmembers will pay $25 more. After tomorrow, an additional $25 will be charged. For information, call 724-266-4500.
