Swissvale Councilman James Bonacci, who announced his resignation during the May 7 council meeting, said yesterday he has changed his mind and will finish his term.

Mr. Bonacci, who cited a lack of cooperation from Allegheny County regarding housing for recovering addicts as part of the reason for his departure, said feedback from constituents persuaded him to stay on the job.

"People have been coming to me and saying you're on to something big, don't quit," he said.

Mr. Bonacci's term expires on the last day of 2009.
