Amount spent per year by America's 40 million anglers on fishing equipment, transportation, lodging and other expenses, according to a new report by the American Sportfishing Association. Dollars spent on tackle increased 16 percent from 2001 to 2006. Anglers' total yearly economic impact of $125 billion includes $34 billion in wages and $16 billion in tax revenues. The analysis is based on data from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
