Well, everybody's still all atwitter over those Miley Cyrus photos.
Vanity Fair defended them by saying her parents and/or minders were on the set the entire time.
Seems her minders (grandmother and teacher) were there the whole time but her parents left before the controversial draped sheet, tousled hair pic was taken and they're not happy.
The Disney moppet's spokeswoman told the New York Post that they never saw any digital image of that photo before it was published.
So many folks have been trying to get a gander that they crashed the Vanity Fair Web site yesterday. The New York Daily News reports that the site received more than 4 million hits by Monday afternoon.
The mag hits the newsstands today.
Photog Annie Lebovitz says the photo is "very beautiful." But we wanna know what's so beautiful about a 15-year-old wrapped in a sheet looking like she just tumbled out of bed after you know what.
We respect Annie but our child's clothes do not come off for nobody.
In the meantime, Miley's idol Hillary Duff is weighing in on the controversy telling ABC Radio, "It's not something that I would choose to do, but if she did them, that's fine. I don't know how her fans would feel about it, but maybe they won't mind."
Yeah, right.
Anyway, we got a chance to talk about it Monday with former child star Paul Petersen, founder of A Minor Consideration, a group that aids current and former child stars. Check it out at minorcon.org
Paul knows the pitfalls of the industry and says the adults MUST, MUST, MUST look out for these youngsters.
Parents got to start being parents whether their child is famous or not.
While we're on the subject of exploitation, Ashley Dupre, aka Gov. Spitzer's hooker, is suing "Girls Gone Wild" founder Joe Francis for $10 million for exploiting her name and image.
Ashley, obviously never a shy girl, says GGW plied her with alcohol and got her to expose her breasts on video in 2003 when she was only 17.
Fastforward to the Gov. Spitzer scandal and GGW has used her image and photo on their Web site, according to Ms. Dupre's lawsuit.
TMZ is reporting that "Dancing With the Stars" contestant Christian de la Fuente is probably going to pull out of the competition because of his injury.
You know yesterday, we told you about Roger Clemens and the claim that he had a 10-year-affair with country songster Mindy McCready back when she was Miley Cyrus' age.
Well, Mindy has confirmed the relationship, according to the NY Daily News, which broke the story.
"I cannot refute anything in the story," she told the newspaper. "Yes, I have known Roger Clemens for a long time," she read from a statement. "He's a kind and caring man. He's also a legendary athlete. The central topic in the debate, however, regards his professional life, not his personal life."
We're sure that's gonna stop everybody from writing about this. NOT!
While this is bad news for Mr. Clemens, it couldn't be better timing for Ms. McCready who is on the comeback trail with a CD and reality show in the works.
Speaking of comebacks, it seems that Whitney Houston's much-awaited post-Bobby Brown/rehab performance was neither right nor OK.
The 44-year-old diva sang at the Plymouth Jazz Festival in Tobago last weekend but she was sadly not the Whitney of old, according to reports.
Ms. Houston did not allow any media in the front of the stage and photos were prohibited.
We don't know why. Girlfriend reportedly looked fabulous in a white, one-shouldered gown, but was not in great voice or even good voice. Reports described her as "flat, hoarse and listless."
She left the stage after 30 minutes and seven songs, leaving a disappointed audience of thousands chanting, "Whitney."
It's true what Whit said in that now infamous Diane Sawyer interview, "Crack is whack."
Should American Idol host Ryan Seacrest be touching up his resume?
Well, our girl Courtney Hazlett at MSNBC.com, has been hearing that everything is being looked at in terms of trying to boost the show's flagging ratings and that includes the host.
Mr. AI is all over the TV and radio so we're not gonna be crying for him if he's not back next year.
He could always just hustle up a few more toothpaste commercials if need be.
