Starting center A.Q. Shipley from Moon High School has been named one of Penn State's offensive captains for the upcoming season while injured linebacker Sean Lee from Upper St. Clair will serve as an honorary captain.

Lee had surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee Monday and will miss the 2008 season, but he plans to redshirt and return for his final season as a fifth-year senior in 2009. Shipley will be a fifth-year senior this fall.

Defensive end Josh Gaines and safety Anthony Scirrotto were named the defensive captains for the Nittany Lions while receiver Derrick Williams was tabbed as the other offensive captain.
