Diggs leaves Pitt basketball team
Monday, April 21, 2008

Pitt junior center Cassin Diggs quit the team last week, a move that opened up a scholarship for another junior-college transfer to take his place.

Diggs' departure makes room for Jermaine Dixon, who is expected to come in and compete for minutes at shooting guard next season.

Diggs, who is 6 feet 10 and 270 pounds, played sparingly in nine games last season for the Panthers after transferring from Cloud County Community College in Kansas. He had 16 points and 18 rebounds in 61 minutes of action.

More details in tomorrow's Post-Gazette.
