TV Q&A with Rob Owen
Friday, March 21, 2008

Submit your question to Rob Owen

This week's TV Q&A responds to no questions, instead running a hodgepodge of submissions -- misspellings, bad grammar, et al. -- from the past nine months. Some pose unanswerable questions, others ask no question and simply rant, a few contain questions whose answers would be of interest only to the person asking the question and still others are incomprehensible. I'll leave it to readers to decide which are which.

As always, thanks for reading, and keep those questions coming.

-- Rob Owen, Post-Gazette TV editor

Q: I would like to know who the beautiful young lady is that does the Benefiber commercial?

-- Donald, N.Huntingdon,Pa.

Q: My 3-year-old son loves "The Backyardigans." He also loves to play Playstation 2 games. I have been trying to get a hold of someone in charge of "The Backyardigans" to see if they could make a "Backyardigans" Playstation 2 game. I know my son would love it. And lots of other kids as well. Could you please let me know who I can talk to?

-- Regina, Niagara Falls, N.Y.

Q: My mom's father died on Jan. 28, 1953. It was a Wednesday evening and the show "This Is Your Life" was on. We have tried for years to find out who was the guest/celebrity that night. Can you help us find out who was on that show on that evening? I realize it's a strange request, but it's one of those family riddles that have bothered us for 54 years.

-- Richard, Ann Arbor, Mich.

Q: Hello! I am bored this evening. I am nice girl that would like to chat with you. E-mail me at f@GlowBallProducts.info only, because I am writing not from my personal e-mail. I want to show you some pictures.

-- David, Perth, Australia

Q: Fans are trying to get word on whether or not it has been cancelled. Is if definate? Its such a shames as it brought a unique audience to Lifetime TV, myself included who never watches the channel.

-- Donna, Forest Knolls

Q: We think it is pretty odd that Drew Carey would host two shows where someone won the million dollar prize on the first night. Are we really supposed to believe these were Lucky Days for CBS and Feb. ratings?

-- Joanne & other disbelievers, Crafton

Q: Did Bob Goen ever do any art work? I have chalk drawing by that name and just wondered.

-- Judith, Lewiston, Idaho

Q: With all the hype that the local stations have made about the weather conditions during the winter, why don't they include a reminder that you are required to clear all snow from your vehicle before starting out and are required to turn on your headlights when your wipers are on. It amazes me how many people drive in a rain or snow storm and think people can see them without lights on. It cost nothing to turn your lights on.

-- Paul, Franklin Park

Q: Is it just me or are TV's talking heads speaking at an inordinate pace? Local news seems especially guilty. Trying to make time for even more commercials?

-- Betty, Pittsburgh

Q: Is Jeff Verszyla developing a gray streak in his hair or has something else taking place. Does having a newborn baby done that to him or is father hood giving him a bad time?

-- Bill, Rostraver Twp.

Q: Is Ken Rice the new scary voice at TV2. Can he tone it down a little?

-- Ed, Kennedy

Q: Does anyone in Pittsburgh even watch Pittsburgh Today Live? Beacuse I seen on burghboyblogs.com had some really nasty stuff about KDKA's Kristine Sorensen.

-- Alex, New Castle

-- Jim, Plum
