Submit your Pitt football question

Q: If Pat Bostick gets the start over Kevan Smith what does that mean for Kevan's future at Pitt, also do you think he would transfer like Luke Getsy did a few years back. Is Pat that much better then Kevan to run the risk of ruining Kevan's confidence for his career at Pitt?
Jeff Kris, Wilkes Barre

Zeise: Well Division I-A football is a business and there are only 119 starting quarterback jobs available and every team is trying to win so this idea of trying not to hurt someone's feelings is not very relevant. If Pat Bostick is the best guy for the job then he needs to be the guy and if Kevan Smith doesn't want to be the back-up he needs to look at his other options. Perhaps he goes and plays baseball, which most people think is his best sport anyway or maybe he decides he'll stay and be satisfied to be the back-up, but his potential negative reaction can't be a factor in whether he is chosen or not. And the same can be said for Pat Bostick - if Kevan Smith is the guy, then Bostick needs to either accept it, support him and work hard to try and become the guy in the future or look at what his options are.

Q: Hey Paul, guessing you heard about Long being a finalst for Arkansas AD...What do you think the chances are that Long gets/takes the job at Arkansas? Also if he does...can we dig up the lost hopes of the script Pitt?!? I know you hate that question but seriously do you see Long taking the AD job at Arkansas?
Ben Crocker, Cherry Hill, N.J.

Zeise: I've been told the job at Arkansas is Jeff's if he decides to go in that direction. If that is true, and it seems there is a lot of solid evidence to substantiate that it is, it would not shock me if he ends up taking the job - I think he's been regarded as a guy who'd be somewhat of a short timer almost since the day he stepped on campus because of his lack of ties here and whatnot. It also wouldn't shock me if he stayed at Pitt because remember, he has been working with the university on a contract extension and the best way to get more money out of your current employer is to have someone else with a lot of money - i.e. an SEC school -- become your suitor. As for the Script Pitt - I promise it will be my first question at the news conference when they announce the hiring of his successor.

Q: All week I've been hearing about Grambling's speed. I realize that there are outstanding skill players at every level in college football, but why is this team being made out to be as athletic as LSU or USC?
Mark Schilajew, Huntingdon, Pa.

Zeise: The difference between USC and LSU and teams like Grambling is mostly the size and talent (combination of both - big guys that can run and move) of the offensive and defensive line and perhaps the talent level of some of the skill players. But a team like Grambling always has a few guys who are athletic and fast enough to play at a higher level and for whatever reason aren't. I don't think that this team is as athletic as LSU or USC, but I'd be willing to be there are a few athletes on both sides of the ball who are comparable to players at both schools and that means they are a dangerous team.
