Dozen Cupcakes, Squirrel Hill, and Turner Dairy, Penn Hills, have teamed up on a "cows and cupcakes" promotion, Saturdays through Oct. 13, to bring awareness to the importance of supporting local farms. Buy a cupcake designated as a "cow cupcake" and a portion of the proceeds benefit local family dairy farms -- rather moooving, you might say. A representative from Turner's or one of its farmers will answer questions.

50 years of
Roland's
Congratulations to Roland's Seafood Grill in the Strip District, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary Saturday with a party featuring a tribute drink for Roland Chelini, founder of the original Roland's, as well as food and drink specials reminiscent of menus past, live entertainment, giveaways and prizes.
Roland was the first of the Chelini family to come from Italy. He started the restaurant in 1957, catering to produce workers and truckers in the Strip.
Expansion and many menu changes occurred through the years, including a short Cajun period, resulting in today's seafood restaurant. If you have a fond memory of Roland's, the family would like to hear about it via www.RolandsSeafoodGrill.com.
