Bostick returns to camp today
Tuesday, August 14, 2007
Pitt freshman quarterback Pat Bostick will return to practice today according to his father, Pat Bostick Sr.

Bostick, who left camp and returned to his Lancaster home Aug. 6 for personal reasons, will attend the Panthers' afternoon practice but likely will not participate in drills until tomorrow.

Bostick Sr. issued the following statement about the situation:

"We're driving out [in the morning], speaking for Pat, he's really excited to get back with his teammates and the coaching staff. He's looking forward to it. I know he's going to be there [for the afternoon practice], I don't know if he'll be in pads or not, but he'll be there. I don't think he'll be thrown out there tomorrow, but I think he'll be competing relatively quickly. The situation will depend on how things play out."

Bostick probably faces long odds to get back into the mix for the starting job because he missed a week of camp. But he will be welcomed back because junior Bill Stull and the other quarterbacks have struggled thus far in camp.

Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt said in a statement: "Pat has indicated that he plans on returning Tuesday morning. We certainly hope that's the case and if indeed he does, we will comment further then."
