Ronald Hobby, who made a verbal commitment to the Pitt football program yesterday, made quite the proclamation.
"I'm electrifying," the cornerback/receiver/return specialist said. "I think that's the best way to say it."
He ran a 4.43 40-yard dash at a camp at Pitt in June which, in large part, led to coach Dave Wannstedt offering a scholarship to the senior from Brandywine Gwynn Park High School in Maryland.
Hobby, who is 5 feet 10, 175 pounds, chose Pitt over offers from Boston College, Syracuse, Maryland, Virginia Tech and Eastern Michigan.
"From the first time they started recruiting me, I could tell that I liked the coaches and everything about Pitt," Hobby said. "Then, when I went and saw the facilities, I knew that was where I wanted to go.
"They said they really like all the things I can do and I know I can go there and help them in the return game right away."
