By Deandre Chapman, Peabody High School (City of Pittsburgh Schools)
Peabody track is back!! Yes, you heard right- track is back at ‘Da Body!! Peabody’s boy’s track team had a wonderful year. Their coach, Mr. Bogaty, has brought the great tradition of track back to life at Peabody High School. The boy’s track team ran straight into 3rd place at the City Championship winning 14 individual awards. Way to go guys!! In addition to a great run at the City Championship, Chris Anderson was able to out shine many of Pittsburgh’s talent by placing 1st in the 400m at the Pine Richland Invitational. The team is looking for bigger and better things next year. Congratulations to all members of the team.
The girl’s track was alive this year as well. Many young ladies ran, and ran, and ran to better their skills and revive the track scene at Peabody. Way to go ladies and keep those legs fresh this summer as we at ‘Da Body are looking for more excitement next year.
Peabody’s softball team showed desire and patience this year by hanging in the heat to squeeze out a few wins to salvage a season. With only losing two seniors, Amanda Anderson and Makala Williams, the team is expecting even more W’s next season. Thanks to those young ladies who put forth the effort to keep the grades up and complete the season without even one practice on the field due to the weather.
