Two of three officials removed by mayor settle in
Tuesday, May 01, 2007

Two recently removed members of Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl's administration settled into new positions with the city yesterday, while a third received more time to consider a job offer.

Former Senior Secretary Marlene Cassidy visited the Pittsburgh Parking Authority yesterday. She was given time to decide whether to accept a post there, according to interim administration spokeswoman Joanna Doven.

Authority Executive Director Dave Onorato said there would soon be a job opening at the agency but would not describe the nature of the post nor elaborate on the purpose of Ms. Cassidy's visit.

Ms. Cassidy would not comment. A long-time aide to the late Mayor Bob O'Connor who spoke at his funeral, she lives with former city Operations Director Dennis Regan in Point Breeze.

Former mayoral spokesman Dick Skrinjar, removed from that role Friday, started his new job as assistant director of city parks and senior interests, earning $66,740.

No information was available on the new position or salary of the third former Mayor's Office employee, Anna Dobkin, a former government relations manager who will now work in the Planning Department.
