Friday, October 13, 2006

The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System announced today it has awarded a $34 million dollar construction contract to P.J. Dick Corp. to build a two-story office/administrative Building and a 98-bed residential living facility in O'Hara.

"The new residential living villas represent a new environment to care for veterans in a community setting," Michael Moreland, director of the local VA system, said in a news release. "The supervised living environment prepares veterans for transitioning into the community and ensure that veterans continue to receive world class health care."

This award is part of the $200 million construction program which will transform the three-hospital system into a two-hospital system in Oakland and O'Hara.
