TV reporter "not guilty" of trespassing on Port Authority property
Thursday, March 02, 2006

KDKA-TV investigative reporter Marty Griffin yesterday was found not guilty of trespassing on Port Authority property last fall when he was looking into lax security at division garages where buses are parked and serviced.

Common Pleas Judge Robert C. Gallo ruled favorably on Mr. Griffin's appeal after a district judge found him guilty of the summary offense, which carries a fine and costs.

The transit agency waited for several weeks after the incident occurred to cite Mr. Griffin, saying his TV report served as evidence of illegally entering authority property and stepping onto a bus. Since then, the authority has taken steps to tighten security and posted more warnings at division garages.
