Sally Skarupa has joined RE/MAX Heritage's Plum office as an associate broker. She has owned and operated Golden Mile Realty in Plum since 1978.

Janice Smarto, associate broker and branch manager for Prudential Preferred Realty's Greensburg office, received the Distinguished Service Award from the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors.

The award recognizes a lifetime of service to the industry and PAR. Smarto, a lifelong Westmoreland County resident, joined Prudential in 1999 when she sold Smarto Real Estate. She received the Realtor of the Year award in 2000 and has served the state group as president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. She has been involved in the National Association of Realtors as a director and regional vice president.

Northwood Realty Services has hired new sales agents.

Steve Roberts of the North Side has joined the North Hills office. He previously served on the Federal Home Loan Bank Affordable Housing Committee and Pennsylvania Regional Comprehensive Housing Advisory Committee.

Bill Kuchma of Elizabeth and Melissa Hornyak of Whitehall have joined the Pleasant Hills office. Both are former Keller Williams agents. Kuchma has an extensive background in residential and commercial construction. Hornyak received a bachelor's degree from Duquesne University.

Dawn Dickson of Jeanette and Joseph Szalkay of Elizabeth have joined the Greensburg office. Megan Boyd of Shaler has joined the Cranberry office. Teri Scott of Acme has joined the Laurel Highlands office. Gina Dye of West Mifflin has joined the Pleasant Hills office

Donna Ciotto of Franklin Park has been named sales director of Coldwell Banker's Beaver office. She has been with the company since 1998, most recently in the mortgage division.

Judy Sholes has been named associate broker/manager of RE/MAX Premier Group's new Mt. Lebanon office.

Sholes has 24 years of experience and most recently was a consistent multimillion-dollar producer with Prudential. She has the designations Accredited Buyer Representative and Graduate, Realtors Institute.

A grand opening was held last weekend for The Village of North Meadows in Pine.

The 35-unit patio home community features homes with three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, open lofts, vaulted living rooms with skylights and a master suite on the first floor.
