Carlynton
Jacie Bejster, a reading specialist in the Mt. Lebanon School District, has been hired as principal of Crafton Elementary School.
Ms. Bejster will join the district Nov. 8. In the interim, Dr. James Wolf, a former Bethel Park principal, will continue to serve as acting principal.
She obtained her principal certification and undergraduate degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her graduate degree at Robert Morris University.
Ms. Bejster is a graduate of Seton-La Salle High School.
Holy Trinity
Pupils at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Robinson donated food, supplies and toys to the Animal Friends No-Kill Shelter during an Oct. 4 school assembly.

St. Malachy
A MARC of Excellence Award has been presented to St. Malachy Catholic School in Kennedy for ongoing publicity coverage for elementary schools in the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh.
The competition is sponsored by MARC USA, a national marketing communications agency, in partnership with the Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
The awards were announced at a recent meeting of Catholic school principals. St. Malachy School received a trophy, which will be displayed at the school.
West Allegheny
Middle and high school pupils who will be playing winter sports must have physical examinations or be recertified, as long as there has been no orthopedic or medical change since the fall physical.
Exams are scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Nov. 2 in the high school. Reservations for a physical can be made by contacting the Athletic Department, 724-695-5247.
