Energy
NiSource Inc. announced that, effective July 1, President Robert C. Skaggs Jr. will assume the additional responsibilities of chief executive officer. Skaggs will succeed Gary L. Neale, who will retire June 30 as CEO, but will continue to serve as chairman of the board.

VigilantMinds Inc. announced its affiliation with Carnegie Mellon University's CyLab in a partnership to enhance cyber security for home users and enterprises.
Core Compliance Group Inc. announced that it has attained certification from the Pennsylvania Department of General Services as both a woman and minority-owned business enterprise. The firm is affiliated with Core Environmental Services Inc., with offices in Allison Park and Morgantown, W.Va.
A collection of mining maps, photos, and other archival materials compiled over more than 140 years of operations have been donated by Consol Energy Inc. to the University of Pittsburgh Library System. The Consol Energy Mining Archives, most of which date from the 1890s through the first half of the 20th century, include more than 8,000 individual map sheets, as well as publications, engineering and survey records, and photographs of mining activities at mines once operated by Consolidation Coal Co., a Consol Energy subsidiary. The earliest map dates to 1854, and the entire collection represents Consol Energy's former mining operations in Allegheny, Fayette, Washington, and Westmoreland counties. While most archival collections are used for historical purposes, the Consol Energy collection is actively used by geologists, municipal officials, industry representatives, developers, students, and other interested parties.

Contracts
RMR Machine Vision Technologies has signed an agreement with Lombard, Ill.-based Fork Standards Inc. to be its authorized representative and solution provider for the eastern United States. Under terms of the agreement, RMR will market FSI's family of machine vision systems powered by software from German based NeuroCheck GmbH.
VAI, a subsidiary of VA Technologie AG, was awarded a contract for the turnkey delivery of a high capacity long rolling mill for Qatar Steel Co. Ltd., in Mesaieed, Qatar.

Grants/Loans
Tickets for Kids Foundation has been awarded a $5,000 grant from Charles M. Morris Charitable Trust. The grant supports Tickets for Kids' mission to enrich the lives of some of the most forgotten children and families in our area by including them in cultural, recreational and educational events they would otherwise not be able to attend.
The Riverlife Task Force received a $100,000 grant from the NiSource Charitable Foundation to advance the design and development of the South Shore Riverfront Park, a large green space that will be part of Three Rivers Park, a grand urban-scale riverfront park that extends nearly 10 miles around the central business district on the Monongahela, Allegheny and Ohio rivers.
