PEOPLE ON THE MOVE

Profile of the Week

Rose Gabbianelli
• Job: Senior vice president and director, Corporate Affairs, Mellon Financial Corp.
• Age: 46
• Ambitions: To continue to be successful and happy, keeping my priorities in balance.
• First job: A paper route selling the "GRIT" weekly newspaper.
• Hardest job/why?: Working with CBS management to help in selling the industrial businesses of Westinghouse. I worked there for 20 years and it was difficult to see the corporation and its employees go through such radical change.
• Biggest work challenge ever: Communicating the sale of Mellon's retail banking business to Citizens to all affected audiences was a great challenge but very rewarding -- a win-win for employees, clients, shareholders and the community.
• Favorite stock/mutual fund: Dreyfus Appreciation Fund.
• Away from work I: Cook, go to Notre Dame games (my husband and his three sons went/go there), do wine tastings, try new restaurants, enjoy family gatherings.
• Dream vacation: Two months in Tuscany with my husband.
• Favorite book: "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown.
• If I won the Lottery, I'd: Pay the kids' tuition, be generous to our families and the causes we support, and enjoy life.
