- 1 cup butter
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 3/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
Cream butter. Add sugar gradually. Add almond extract. Blend in sifted dry ingredients. Chill.
Shape level teaspoonfuls of dough into balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees about 10 minutes. Cool. Frost (recipe below). Makes about 6 dozen.
Frosting
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- Cream
- Red and green food coloring
Melt butter in sauce pan. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar and flavorings.
Add cream to make frosting of spreading consistency. Tint half of frosting a delicate pink, other half green. Frost cookies.
