In this program, kids ages 6 to 8 will explore the physical characteristics of clay and clay construction by making pinch pots, beads and medallions, decorative plates and bowls and ceramic figures.
They will learn how to integrate clay and fibers, practice the African tradition of Mangbetu Pressed Coils, and use additive and subtractive techniques to alter the surface of clay.

Celebrate the legendary Billy Strayhorn's birthday with a night of his music featuring The Pittsburgh Gospel Choir, Vanessa German, Phil Solomon and the Sean Jones Quintet.
William "Billy" Strayhorn (1915-1967) was a composer, pianist and arranger raised in Pittsburgh who specialized in classical, swing and jazz music. An openly gay black man, he supported many civil rights causes.
