Classical Mystery Tour: The Music Of The Beatles

The Pittsburgh Symphony Pops Orchestra joins forces with the tribute band Classical Mystery Tour for an amazing reincarnation of the legendary Beatles --- performing each individual note exactly how it was written.

The Beatles (1957-1970) are one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed pop-ock bands in history. Their clothes, style and statements made them trend-setters, while their growing social awareness saw their influence extend into the social and cultural revolutions of the 1960s.

Laura Bush, wife og the 34th U.S. President, discusses the issues of most concern to her.

As First Lady of the United States, Mrs. Bush was a staunch advocate for global literacy and human rights. While First Lady she convened a summit on early childhood development; led a nation to raise awareness about the challenges facing our nation's youth, and fought against breast cancer, heart disease, HIV, AIDS and malaria.

BNY Mellon Grand Classics

This series features the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) performing some of the best works created classical music’s most legendary composers.

The opening theme of Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s first "Piano Concerto" may be one of the most recognizable in classical music and represents the sweeping, brilliant essence of Russian Romantic music. And back by popular demand, the concert features delightful music by members of the Strauss family.

This series features the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) performing some of the best works created classical music’s most legendary composers.

PSO Music Director Manfred Honeck presents his personal version of AMadeus Mozart’s "Requiem", a dramatic and theatrical treatment which features church bells, Gregorian chant and readings from Mozart’s letters to his father. The setting is Vienna’s St. Stephen’s Cathedral at the time of Mozart’s death.

The Holidays At Heinz Hall

The Pittsburgh Symphony Association (PSA) celebrates its 70th anniversary with this fundraiser to benefit the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

A highlight of the event will be the shopping boutique, which will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Vendors from the Pittsburgh area will set up boutiques and sell a wide array of specialty, holiday and gift items. Admission is free and open to the public.

A luncheon is open to shoppers for $40 and will be held at 12:30 p.m. For reservations call (412) 392-3303.

Handel's Messiah

Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh joins the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in performing the breathtaking holiday favorite.

First performed in 1742, George Frideric Handel's oratorio "Messiah" uses verses from the King James Bible to present Jesus' life and its significance according to Christian doctrine.
